In the Medical Imaging Department, all direct radiological examinations, mammography and ultrasonography procedures are performed under the control of specialist doctors and technicians with our advanced technology devices. Private Loca Medical Centre, which closely follows the latest developments in world medicine, has renewed its radiology centre with advanced technology system and put it into service.
Our department serves our patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
All direct radiographs are obtained digitally with CR systems. In addition, portable radiography service is provided to our inpatients in the hospital when deemed necessary.
PACS (Medical Image Archiving and Communication) System
PACS system is an image and information management system in radiology. With this system, physicians can access the images of the patient as soon as the patient’s film is taken, from within the hospital or from their own offices. In addition to providing effective information and image transfer, this system ensures that patient films are archived in digital environment and can be accessed even years later. This new system eliminates the need for patients to apply to physicians with thick files and film folders, and all information and image circulation is carried out digitally via computer network.
Direct Radiological Examinations
In our unit, all direct radiological examinations are obtained digitally with CR systems. These examinations are performed by experienced radiotechnologists trained in associate degree programmes under the supervision of specialist radiologists. The examinations are reported immediately in emergency medical situations or the clinician is informed immediately.
In addition, the examinations in this group are applied to our inpatients in their beds in cases deemed necessary. X-ray films are taken 24 hours a day in our hospital.
Mammography Examinations
Digital Mammography, a new technology in breast imaging, is now one of the main diagnostic methods in the diagnosis of breast diseases and breast cancer screening. Unlike conventional mammography, images are obtained digitally using electronic sensors. These images are then analysed on special high-resolution monitors. Postprocessing operations such as magnification, measurement and contrast adjustment can be performed regardless of the dose of X-ray used.
The radiation dose is lower than conventional mammography.
Images are archived in digital environment and can be transferred digitally.
Ultrasonography and Doppler Ultrasonography Examinations
The high resolution and excellent image quality of advanced ultrasonography devices provide diagnostic convenience. All ultrasonographic examinations are performed in our renewed department with our latest model ultrasonography devices. In addition to ultrasonographic examinations of intra-abdominal organs such as liver, gallbladder, kidneys, superficial foku examinations are also performed (eg thyroid, breast, etc.).
